Nicole

Studio Owner & Yoga Teacher

Nicole feels blessed to be the owner of Honor Yoga Hillsborough and has been dedicated to her practice for over 25 years. While Nicole's roots began with the physicality of Bikram Yoga, they quickly expanded into Vinyasa Flow and the more subtle energy the practice provided. It is here that she was captivated by the ocean of philosophical teachings reaching far beyond the physical aspects.

She received her 200 HR Certification under the guidance of Heather Artman and knew her heart was called to spread the teachings of yoga to students. Nicole made the decision to leave her corporate career and become a studio owner / full-time yoga teacher and has never looked back. She loves teaching creative sequencing to beginners and advanced students that challenges the body & mind and is continuously inspired by observing students fall in love with the practice of yoga.

It is through observing each student's healing and growth that Nicole finds deepest gratitude. Nicole has since become 500 ERYT Certified, NASM CPT and CNC Certified, RPYT Certified (Prenatal Yoga), Barre Certified, and YACEP certified with over 2000 hours of yoga teaching experience.

Carolyn is certified, as well, in Restorative Yoga, Yin, Therapeutic, Kids, Yoga Barre and Reiki Level 1. After being diagnosed with PTSD, Carolyn turned to yoga from a strong desire to heal without heavy medications. Already having a background in dance and movement, yoga seemed to bring everything that came naturally to her into a purposeful and mindful way of living.

Carolyn’s background was as a classically trained actress and director. She brings her background into class by intrinsically understanding how the linking of body, breath and mind are integral in both yoga and acting. Carolyn strives to make her sequencing creative and informative. Carolyn believes strongly in finding love and belief in yourself and hopes her teaching supports that. She also brings a strong sense of laughter and fun as well…it’s all about balance after all.

Kelly

Yoga Teacher

Kelly Connelly began practicing in 2005 and very quickly realized the tremendous physical and emotional benefits yoga has to offer. While expecting to increase strength and flexibility, she found that through a committed practice she was able to find a more balanced approach to life. Learning to find peace and stillness in a challenging pose has helped her to move outside of what’s comfortable and explore new possibilities.

She completed her training certification through the Four Winds Yoga teacher training program and has been teaching since 2010. While off the mat, she works as an engineer for a pharmaceutical company and enjoys hiking, snowshoeing, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

As a teacher, Kelly works to help students find peace and balance within their own practice. Her classes are designed for students of all levels with options provided for beginners through more advanced practitioners. Detailed instructions are provided to guide students through a complete body workout. Expect to be challenged, sweat, relax, and have a little fun.

Kerry

Yoga Teacher

Practicing yoga helped Kerry through some difficult life struggles and flamed her desire to pursue further training in the Honor Yoga 200 hour certification program.

Convinced she would never actually teach and just wanted to deepen her own practice, it was never the goal to be an instructor. However, upon teaching donation classes and subbing for Honor instructors, she quickly realized she had a passion for teaching.

Her hope is to hold a space for others to explore the benefits of breath, asana, and meditation in an approachable and fun way, and ultimately help others to bring the benefits of their practice outside of the studio and into their daily lives.

Patricia

Yoga Teacher

Yoga has been a part of my life for over 10 years, and my practice has helped me grow stronger, more flexible and fearless, both on and off the mat. Yoga inspires me to live each moment more mindfully.

To deepen my practice and understanding of yoga I completed my 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training at Honor Yoga. I have also completed 100-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Sally Miller at Princeton Integral Yoga Community Center (IYCC), and 75-Hour Yin Yoga Teacher Training with Marije Paternotte at Inlet Yoga, Manasquan, NJ. I will always be a student of the practice and am deeply grateful for the loving wisdom my teachers have shared with me.

I teach yoga because I want to give back and share with others the many benefits that yoga has brought to my life. In my classes, I love to combine creative sequencing, a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice. I seek to help others thrive in live by nurturing body, mind and soul with yoga, and my hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed, nourished and balanced.”

JJ

Yoga Teacher

JJ found yoga during 2020 when everything was shut down. Prior to the pandemic, she didn’t realize how hard it was to be still and present. Yoga started out as a something she did to stretch and then she learned that yoga is so much more than this.

JJ has been meditating since she became a mental health therapist in 2012 and when she saw how meditation, breath work and movement flowed together, she found a deep sense of spirituality in the practice. She feels blessed to have found this sacred practice from India and with her 200hr YTT from Honor Yoga Hillsborough and Yoga essence, she feels hopeful to share her love of the practice out with others.

JJ’s main goal is to create a safe space for all humans to explore, calm, learn themselves and most of all have fun.

Deb

Yoga Teacher

Deb began practicing yoga over 15 years ago as a way to balance out the demands on her body from running. It wasn’t long, though, before she realized that yoga was helping her to deal with stress and anxiety and to find more joy in her life. Where running taught her discipline, the mind-body connection offered through yoga was teaching her mindfulness, gratitude, and peace.

Deb works as a reading specialist during the day and received her kid-yoga certification in 2015 in order to share the benefits of yoga with her students, who sometimes struggled to find calm during the school day. Because she wanted to share her belief that we cannot take care of others and fully participate in the lives we are meant to have if we don’t take care of ourselves, Deb worked toward and received her 200-hour certification in 2020. She has been leading adult yoga classes since.
